Dear Chico Peace Endeavor Community,

The time has come for the Chico Peace Endeavor to dissolve as a nonprofit.

This is a bittersweet moment for us here at the Chico Peace Endeavor, as this has been a long time coming, yet our devotion to the Peace Center and its rich history has made this a difficult decision. There have been many efforts from different community members to keep the Peace Center afloat, and after much research, deliberation, and collaboration, we’ve come to the conclusion that now is the time to dissolve the nonprofit. It is no longer financially viable, and instead of continuing to sustain the nonprofit along with all of the resources, requirements, and expenses necessary to do so, we have come to agree that its in the best interest of the peace community to continue our peace activism without the nonprofit and all that it entails. Much of the local peace activism in our communities throughout these past years has been without the help of the nonprofit, and so we are confident in the peace community’s ability and dedication to continue its good work. Despite the closure of the nonprofit as a legal entity, the Chico peace community has continued to remain active and will continue to do so, as it has been for decades and throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. We’d like to thank everyone who has donated their time and resources to the organization over the years. Your contributions have helped create positive change in the community, and we hope that we will all continue our good work moving forward.
